Prime Minister's Internship Scheme (PMIS) in Detail
- Objective: Provide hands-on industry experience to youth aged 21-24, boosting career prospects and contributing to inclusive growth.
- Scope: Independent from existing skill development, apprenticeship, or training programs by Central/State Governments.
- Eligibility:
- Age: 21-24 years.
- Family Income: No member (self/spouse/parents) earns >₹8 lakh annually or holds a government job.
- Employment: Must be unemployed and not enrolled in full-time education.
- Exclusions: Graduates from IITs, IIMs, NLUs, IISERs, NIDs, IIITs; holders of CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, Master’s or higher degrees; those in government skill/apprenticeship schemes.

- Apply for up to 3 internships simultaneously via app/portal.
- Referral Program: Registered users earn rewards for referring eligible candidates.

- Applicants: 6,08,917 registered; 1,45,798 shortlisted.
- Opportunities: 1,06,135 internships across 650+ districts in 35 States/UTs.
- Companies: 193 top firms participated.
- Sectors: 20+ industries (e.g., Agriculture, Automotive, IT, Healthcare).

- Internship Roles:
- Graduates (BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA): 37,000.
- ITI Holders: 23,000.
- Diploma Holders: 18,000.
- 12th Pass: 15,000.
- 10th Pass: 25,000.
Financial Assistance and Benefits
- Stipend: ₹5,000/month (₹4,500 from Government, ₹500 from host company).
- One-time Grant: ₹6,000 for incidental expenses.
- Insurance: Covered under PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
- Experience: Minimum 6 months with top companies; internship certificate provided.
- Exposure: Access to top 300 companies for enhanced employability.
