Prime Minister's Internship Scheme (PMIS) in Detail

Objective: Provide hands-on industry experience to youth aged 21-24, boosting career prospects and contributing to inclusive growth.
Scope: Independent from existing skill development, apprenticeship, or training programs by Central/State Governments.
Eligibility:
- Age: 21-24 years.
- Family Income: No member (self/spouse/parents) earns >₹8 lakh annually or holds a government job.
- Employment: Must be unemployed and not enrolled in full-time education.
- Exclusions: Graduates from IITs, IIMs, NLUs, IISERs, NIDs, IIITs; holders of CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, Master’s or higher degrees; those in government skill/apprenticeship schemes.

Financial Assistance and Benefits

Stipend: ₹5,000/month (₹4,500 from Government, ₹500 from host company).
One-time Grant: ₹6,000 for incidental expenses.
Insurance: Covered under PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
